GNOME Video Arcade recognizes that the frontend is not the point; the games are. As such, its chief design goal is to help you quickly find a game to play and then get out of the way. Its purpose is not to help you manage your ROM collection, nor to provide a confusing graphical interface for MAME's plethora of configuration options.

QMC2 today is a stable, feature-rich and fast multi-platform GUI front end for M.A.M.E. (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator). It's known to work on any modern Linux distribution, most UNIX derivatives such as OpenSolaris or FreeBSD, on Mac OS X and Windows (XP, Vista and above).

Not really a frontend per se. What Xik does is create icons of all your available MAME games in a directory on your desktop. Icons can be created from screenshots or mame icon packs. You can right click on any icon to edit the properties of each game.
